Getting ready to celebrate 5 years…
Tracy and I were awake far too early one morning in June 2018. Tracy begrudgingly left the comfort of our bed and went upstairs to boil water and make our beloved Bourbon Vanilla black tea – the coveted beverage that we had drunk almost exclusively for 25+ years. Minutes later Tracy returned to our bedroom holding both a pot of tea and bad news. While waiting for the water to boil she noticed our stash of Bourbon Vanilla loose leaf tea was low and sent an email, seeking replenishment, from our tea contact – Stave Sakai owner of The Tea Store. Steve shot back a quick reply. “Hi Tracy – sorry I have no more stock. I am soon shutting down the business. Thanks for your support over the years. Keep well – Steve”.
Perhaps it was the lack of sleep, or fear of losing our beloved caffeinated beverage, but in a hurried moment, two already hard working professionals contacted Steve and offered to buy his online tea business. In doing so, we secured our beloved Bourbon Vanilla tea and began our own incredible small business journey.
In 2023 we will celebrate and greatly reflect upon on our journey towards building a friendly and customer focussed community for tea enthusiasts. THANK YOU for supporting us and our addiction to great teas.
